Today's episode is a result of valuing people at their word. Nativity aside.
Historians believe that the handshake was the binding agreement that each party would not carry any weapons that could harm the other. Over time, according to historians, the handshake evolved to become a way for individuals to unite, seal deals, and historically establish peace. I grew up trusting the actions of others because the handshake and someone's word is more binding than any ink on paper.
I still start all my deals this way, but I don't live in a world where the logistics of legality don't come into play. The disappointment however is often not in the results or outcomes of the performance of the deal, but often is placed towards the people within the deal.
